After many fail attempts from various mechanics at getting the generator right, Earnie from Dependable Marine Service got the back end off the generator in order to replace the oil seal.

With a new starter, new glow plugs and an experiance mechanic to put it all back together, the generator should give many years of trouble-free service.

The pan under the generator had an oily mess that need to be resolved. With the pan clean, a fresh coat of paint will tidy things up properly.

Note

1.down to the right, next to the battery, down low is about 5-10 gallons of diesel fuel, mixed with water and old oil that has collected from the generator.

This needs to be resolved. - bottom row thumbnail on the left

2. The exhaust mixing elbow is cracked. This needs to be repaired. Earine is going to attempt to source a replacement. If he can't find one, we will try to get the old one repaired.

This can't be overlooked. I don't have a photo of this, but I've seen it and concur.
